In this foreign land, you see your wife and children cowering in fear. And each year, more horrors; more hunger; more fear. Your homeland’s torn asunder. And innocent, you are, but that doesn’t matter to the people threatening your lives. The law is bought. You’ve got to get away. The law was bought. They had to get away. Deconstruct the plot: Despite your scorn and judgment, you would do the same if that had been your life, if that had been your wife and kids, and not some mental play. You would do the same.
